Whats a good online investing company to start with?

I am a 20 year old college student looking to get involved with mutual funds and maybe some stocks. I already have a roth ira and am looking for a good online investment company like Charles Schwab, Fidelity, and Ing Direct to start and play around. I am looking to investing a couple thousand for now since that is what I can afford.
Any advice, pros and cons, and anything else you have to say would be appreciated. What is a good company to start with. We all have to start from somewhere.

Hi. I’m looking to do some (day) trading. Approximately $10k investment initially. Full reinvestment. I will take a single position at the start of a trading day and divest within 8-48 hours. I’m looking for advice on which online broker to use to conduct my trades.
I do not need investment advice, or research. I have these tools available to me through other means. Instead I simply need someone to execute trades on my behalf. Timing is moderately important but not critical (i.e., within 10-15 minutes, so I don’t think it should be an issue). I’m really looking for execution, and minimal cost.
So far the best solution I’ve seen is Scottrade’s online system. Any advice is appreciated – either regarding Scottrade (hidden fees?) or other options.

Realtors, do you use online real estate advertising such as: realtor.com, homepages.com? Is it worth it?

Theres a lot of online real estate advertising websites like homepages.com, housevalues.com/justlisted.com, realestate.com, etc. They charge a large fee and make you commit for a certain number of months. I wonder if it is worth paying the charges? Do you get a considerable amount of leads? Do you get your money’s worth? Is there anything that you think is missing from their service?
How do I find ONLINE investment property mortgage rates?

I’ve noticed that the main mortgage websites only quote purchase and refinance rates for homeowners, but I’m looking to invest in real estate right now. Short of calling up individual companies, how can I find and commpare rates for rental/investment property? Also, is the standard requirement 20 or 30% as the downpayment for these properties?
I guess I should clarify that I’m just trying to price things out loosely right now, and am looking for an average rate for a rental property–either a single family or a duplex. And qualifying isn’t a problem for us.

I have $200 to invest in stocks. I want complete control of my cash. I want no advice. I don’t want huge fees for spreading my small investment amount over several stocks and not buying in complete lots.
Actually, I’m not worried about turning my cash into major profits. I just want to have the fun of investing and I want to get annual reports. It’s more of a learning experience than anything.
